    • The general purpose of the speech was clear. 1
The general purpose of the speech was to inform how to sleep well at night.
    • The specific purpose of the speech was clear. 1
The specific purpose was to suggest various ways for a good night sleep in detail. During her speech, she gave specific and fairly easy ways to sleep well at night.
    • The speech organization supported the speech's specific purpose. 2
The speech organized well to explain why it is so important to sleep well, and how can it be achieved.
    • The main points and supporting material contributed to the speech's specific purpose. 2
Though there was not much of a supporting material, the main points were easy and detailed enough for the listeners to learn the ways to help improving the quality of sleep.
    • The beginning, body and conclusion reinforced the specific purpose. 1
She began the speech by giving out her own story of not being able to sleep well, which interested the audience to pay attention to the next part of the speech. All the body part was contributed to suggesting the ways for a better sleep, and the speaker concluded the speech by encouraging the listeners to implement the ways she presented.
    • The speaker achieved the specific purpose. 2
As listening to the speech, I was quite intrigued to actually try the methods the speaker mentioned.
    • The speaker appeared confident and sincere, with minimal nervousness. 3
Though she tried to make eye contacts with the audience, she barely did it. Her eyes were fixed on the podium for most of the times.
    • The speaker did not rely on notes throughout the speech. 4
I’m not sure if she was looking at her notes, but as mentioned above, she was looking at something on the podium instead of making eye contacts.
    • What could the speaker have done differently to make the speech more effective?
I think her tone of voice was too monotonous. It would’ve been much better if she spoke with more varied intonation. Also, I think she tried to explain too many methods for a good night sleep. I guess it would’ve been more interesting if she selected the important points and explained them with some specific stories or examples.

    • What did you like about the presentation?
She chose a great general purpose of the speech. It was not too broad or too difficult, and interesting enough to draw audience’s attention. The content and organization of the speech was also excellent. Her voice and the speed were good, too.

    • The general purpose of the speech was clear. 1
The general purpose of the speech was to inform the audience.
    • The specific purpose of the speech was clear. 1
The speech-giver informs the audience how to fall asleep better.
    • The speech organization supported the speech's specific purpose. 2
The speech was organized in a way that it’s easy for the audiences to understand the flow of her logic. She first stated her difficulties falling asleep and then suggested some ways of sleeping better. She also made a good conclusion to wrap up her speech.
    • The main points and supporting material contributed to the speech's specific purpose. 1
Examples and personal experience she gave helped the audience understand her main points.
    • The beginning, body and conclusion reinforced the specific purpose. 2
She began with her story of not able to fall asleep during the night, which was used as a hook to draw audiences’ attention. The body was organized quite clearly(first, second,...) so that the audiences could follow her logic without getting lost.
    • The speaker achieved the specific purpose. 2
I think she made quite a good job in achieving her specific purpose. As I listened to the speech, I wanted to try her sleeping tips myself.
    • The speaker appeared confident and sincere, with minimal nervousness. 2
She was fairly good at trying to make eye contacts with the audience.
    • The speaker did not rely on notes throughout the speech. 3
Most of the time she tried to make eye contacts with the audience, but I think she was glancing at her notes. I think it would have been better if she had memorized some(not all) parts of her notes, and made more eye contacts instead.
    • What could the speaker have done differently to make the speech more effective?
It would have been better if she gave the speech with more intonation. Also, it would be super if she had given fewer tips and instead focus on reinforcing these few tips with specific details.
    • What did you like about the presentation?
I think she chose a great topic. Nowadays, sleeping disorder is one of the biggest problems we suffer, and I am having a bad time falling asleep too. Her speech will be a great help for me on having a better-quality sleep.
